After his first on screen kiss with Vidya Balan in Guru, Madhavan reportedly had said that he will not kiss any actress on screen again but in Tanu Weds Manu, he seems to have broken his promise to himself. In the film, he plays a simple guy from London who comes to India in search of a bride and falls in love with a small town wild girl, Tanu, played by Kangna Ranaut.
A close hand reveals, It's a scene where Madhavan comes to see Kangna for a formal girl, boy meeting before marriage and Kangna turns up semi conscious in front of him after drinking a half bottle vodka along with sleeping pills because she doesn't want to marry him but Madhavan falls in love with her at first sight and kisses her, while she lays unconscious."
Apparently, Maddy, who in reality is a very shy person, was a little apprehensive while shooting for the scene and was a little uncomfortable kissing. Kangna, being an understanding co star gauged his hesitation and tried to make the situation light. The scene was finally shot and has come out beautifully.
Explains director Aanand L Rai, It's a very funny but romantic scene, where the bride to be turns up drunk and almost unconscious with a long pallu drown on her face and Manu falls in love with her that very moment and agrees to marry her. The sweetness of the scene was required to be justified with a kiss. Well, we believe Madhavan will think twice now before making any promise.
